Golf word problem?

A golfer takes 2 putts to get the golf ball inside the hole. The first putt rolls the ball 23 ft in the NW direction (N 45 deg. W), and the second putt sends the ball due north 6 ft into the hole. How far would the golfer have putted the ball to get the ball into the hole with one stroke? (ume the green is level)
