Changing vets?

i'm from a small town and the vet i take my pets to isn't very popular and so they don't see as many pets as most but i feel like they totally don't care. i have an 11 year old border collie that has seen them her whole life and every month for 2 years when she was younger and they never remember her. infact they had it written on her chart that she was a lab mix. they looked at my husky/timber wolf mix and wrote down that he was a sheppard and they had no record of my cat who has seen them 4 times! in addition they have record of pets on my file that i never owned and they never give my after care instructions for anything and today was the first day they weighed any of my pets and its because i asked them to. my dog went in for a check up and they didn't even listen to his heart. it seems odd to me and i want to switch vets but i wan't to know if all vets are like this or just mine.
