I redrafted the story opening that i posted according to the criticisms, will you read it and give me feedback?

I didn't read the 1st post....but I will be honest. I struggled to read past the first few lines as what you have written is very self indulgent. It tells me nothing of the character...who they are...where they are...what they want. These are the BASIC rules of fiction...the reader must be grabbed in the very first sentences....and this does not grab. It bores.
