Is it illegal to put up a sign saying keep out?

Ok so I live in a gated apartment complex, four big apartments. and i have these annoying neighbors who are those kinds of neighbors who are just bad people. And one of my neighbors put a a sign saying keep out so all the delinquents of the neighborhood that don't even live here wont come in. she keeps saying its illegal but Im pretty sure its not.
