Was Guiliani right to sue gun manufacturers?

Because Rudy is just a Democrat calling himself a Republican. Back in 2004, some guy went wacko in downtown Chicago and beat 2 people to death with a table leg. I always wondered why Mayor Richard Daley didn't try and sue Haworth furniture or the various furniture outlets in the Chicago and the surrounding area.
