What does the stem of a cotton plant look like?Is it spiky?or wut cause i need to know for a skool thang!?

No they are not spiky at top where the ball of cotton(called bowls) forms it appears they are setting on a spiky set up, but they are harmless..picking cotton will give you no thorns or anything of the sort..each individual plant has many small woody like branches growing from them but are just like simple woody twigs..no thorns no spikes..
